Solar EclipsE 2024

From where we were watching it did not get completely dark, but the eclipse casts an eerie shadow over the water. Time seemed to stand still.

We watched the Eclipse from the dock on Houdini in Paradise Village Marina. The 2024 solar eclipse is a big deal due to its wide path of totality crossing North America, providing accessible viewing opportunities for millions.

Unfortunately, we did not plan ahead at all so we did not have solar viewing glasses in our hot little hands. I tried to use three pairs of sunglasses, one on top of the other, but alas it did not work. There was no way for us to look directly into the sun. Esteban tried the “paper method”, I still don’t understand how that works. Eventually we noticed the sun reflected into the water and back onto the boat next to us with a black hull gave us a blurry view of the eclipse.
